Born in Kansas City, MO to a single Mother in the early 60's into the 70's. Motown was my first love, the Supremes, Temptations, 4 Tops, Spinners, Barry White, all of these my mother played constantly all through the house. At 11 years old I went to my first concert "Isley Brothers" and when I saw Ernie Isley on guitar, I was hooked. My family bought my first guitar when I was in the 7th grade. I spent endless hours searching for the right combination that would unlock my ultimate potential but I didn't find it. I put the guitar down in the 10th grade, and began to run the streets, but I always had that love still in my heart.
In my mid 20's the blues bug hit me and I began with Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Tyrone Davis. I formed a band and began sharpening my craft at the Blues Alley, Bob's Saloon and Grand Emporium to name a few. After 7 years I wanted more so I played in a Reggae band for a year but that still wasn't satisfying. I met a funk bassist who opened my world up to the Funk style and played it until 1996. Then I heard the call of God, and learned from the styles of Fred Hammond, John P. Kee and Marvin Sapp. This opened my understanding to the spiritual things of God, while still hitting it hard. During this time, I learned Jazz, Country, Rock, Blue Grass & Keltic music rounding my world out on the bass. I still craved the heavy drive of the music, how it moves people, and stirs their souls. I'm grateful for the gift and freely share it with all.
